Watseka Family Festival Success

This past weekend, Conxxus provided free WI-FI for the Watseka Family Festival, in Watseka, Il.

We cannot thank the community of Watseka enough for the positive feedback we received at our tent, located in the vendor’s section at the festival. We were able to meet local community members, answer questions, and give away 6 months of free Wi-Fi to a new Conxxus customer! All in all,we had more than 200 people connected and using our Wi-Fi.

Our goal for this festival was to provide everyone the opportunity to stay connected while enjoying an environment that typically has zero service. We know how frustrating it can be when you are at a concert without reception due to an abundance of people. Being able to share memories with loved ones is what makes events like these so special. We tried our best to ensure this didn’t happen by placing our router close to the concert venue. While this placement resulted in the success of fast internet for the concert attendees, some vendors on the other side of the fair struggled to maintain the same connection.

Doug Overmyer, marketing manager at Conxxus, reflected on the experience, stating, “This was our second time offering free Wi-Fi at an outdoor festival. We encountered connectivity issues for some vendors situated over 600 feet from the router. However, we have already been coming up with solutions to improve the system at the next festival. We eagerly anticipate returning next year with a stronger signal for everyone.”
